BCC Mayor Re-elected

Blantyre city council has re-elected Councillor Wild Ndipo as mayor of the city.

The elections were conducted at a first full council meeting since May 21 tripartite elections.

Ndipo got 20 votes while Gertrude Chirambo 5 and Eric Mofolo 4.

On the position of deputy mayor the council has also re-elected Councillor Joseph Makwinja beating Isaac Osmaan, Funny Kalonjera and Thoko phekani.

In his acceptance speech Ndipo commended the members for the trust they have in him.

He said his re-election is a clear manifestation that people of Blantyre recognise his service.

Ndipo added that he will achieve his dream of making Blantyre clean and providing social services closer to people.
