Chakwera and Kaphale Tussle in Court

Attorney general Kalekeni Kaphale who is lawyer of Malawi Electoral Commission has cross examined president of Malawi Congress Party MCP Dr Lazarus Chakwera.

During the cross examination Chakwera said was against irregularities not fraud and voting.

Lawyers of Chakwera objected the harsh cross examination which Kaphale was doing.

The court warned Kaphale against violating case management process.

It ordered Chakwera to answer and not ask questions and the audience in the court not to speak.

In the afternoon Kaphale complained that “the court was protecting Chakwera,”

However, the judges cautioned him for making such statement

He withdrew it and the court ordered him to stop making sentiments just because he will withdraw them.

Court reporters and Kaphale complained that Chakwera was not audible therefore the court ordered him to improve
