Chancellor College closed again

One of the education activists in the country has asked college and university managements not to affect school session when resolving their issues.

Benedicto Kondowe has said this when commenting on the closure of Chancellor College due to the strike by their lecturers.

“Such issues must be resolved during holidays to avoid violating right to education of students,” said Kondowe

He has therefore asked government to come in and resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Speaking in a separate interview Chancellor College students Union President Ayuba James said the closure has affected students psychologically.

“Some of the students had already arrived at the college in readiness for the school opening day,” James said.

He has therefore asked government to take issues seriously in order to avoid the closure in future.

The lecturers are expected to go on strike next week in order to press for a pay hike.
