DPP accuses MCP of stopping fundraising event

Democratic Progressive Party DPP has accused Malawi Congress Party MCP of stopping Malawi College of Medicine to host its fundraising event on 18^th February

In a statement spokesperson for president of DPP Shadric Namalomba says the party is greatly shocked with the callous actions of government of MCP in threatening a duly contracted fundraising event

Namalomba says these actions reminds DPP of the dark days which they fought against in 1994 to usher in democratic freedoms in Malawi

He says the constitution lawfully guarantees any citizen the right to assemble

Meanwhile, DPP has postponed the event to a later date and new venue which will be announced in due course
