First ever brail press centre opened in Malawi

The long awaited brail press centre has been established at Malawi Union for the blind headquarters in Chiwembe Blantyre.

Speaking with Radio Islam MUB’s executive director Ezekiel Kumwenda said that the centre will help the visually impaired to access information easily.

“As am speaking the centre is conducting training for specialist teachers who are based in different resource centres across the country,” revealed Kumwenda.

However, Kumwenda expressed worry over the equipment that has been detained by Malawi Revenue Authority MRA at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe meant be used in training the teachers.

One of the specialist teachers from Nkhota-kota resource centre Muhammad Abdullah MUhyiddin concurred with Kumwenda and has since called upon well wishers to assist MUB in clearing the equipment from MRA.
