Four judges promoted to Supreme court

Four High court judges have been promoted to Supreme Court of appeal

They are Dingiswayo Madise, Rowland Mvundula, Dorothy Kamanga and Sylvester Kalembera

Registrar of High and Supreme courts Kondwani Banda has confirmed the promotion

This brings the total number of Supreme Court judges of Appeal to 11.

Meanwhile, Centre for Human Rights Education, Assistance and Advice CHREAA has hailed the promotion which he said has been made in time as concerns of dealing with backlogs in courts.

However CHREAA executive director Victor Mhango requested the president to fill up the gap that has been created adding that most cases are dealt with at the lower courts.
