Gift of the Givers foundation distributes family tents to cyclone survivors

Gift of the Givers foundation is distributing 150 family tents worth 45 million kwacha to 5 districts in southern region as a way of speeding up relocation of people affected by cyclone Freddy.

Gift of the Givers country Manager Sharifa Mia revealed this to radio Islam after distributing 50 family tents to people affected by cyclone Freddy at Ntauchira village who are expected to be relocated to Mpulula Village TA Nkalo in Chiradzulu district

Mia said through Department of Disaster Risk Management Affairs Gift of the Givers foundation is reaching out to the affected people that are being relocated in Phalombe, Mulanje, Chikwawa, Nsanje and Chiradzulu.

In his remarks group village headman Mpulula commended the organization for distributing the tents valued at 15 million kwacha to people who will be relocated into his village from Ntauchila village

Group village head Mpulula said the 50 families that are coming to stay in his area will be welcomed and integrated into the village as one family.

About 500,000 people are estimated to be affected by cyclone Freddy in southern part of Malawi.
