“To enforce, the law, the ministry will intensify inspection and all foreigners who are running their businesses in the undesignated places will face closure,” Msokera said

According to secretary for the Ministry Ken Ndala the designated places for operating businesses owned by non Malawians and all businesses incorporated as limited companies remain central business districts of the four cities of Blantyre, Zomba, Lilongwe and Mzuzu and the two municipalities of Kasungu and Luchenza.

“The Ministry wishes to remind the business community and the general public that foreign owned businesses and business incorporated as limited companies are not allowed to operate in residential trading areas of the said cities and municipalities. This is in line with the Business Licencing Act of 2012, Cap 46:02 of the laws of Malawi,” Ndala explained
