Government deregisters suppliers in AIP

Ministry of agriculture says has deregistered suppliers that have been selling fertilizers mixed with sand or sand packed in bags to beneficiaries of affordable inputs program

Secretary for agriculture Erica Maganda says such suppliers will no longer be allowed to sell fertilizers under the program

Maganga says the malpractices have been noted and reported from central and southern region districts of the country.

“Malawi Police service has made some arrests of the perpetrators,” Maganga

She says the Ministry in collaboration with Malawi Bureau of Standards MBS will continuously test quality of fertilizers being sold through AIP and normal sells in all outlets.
