Government doing nothing on federal system-Justice Minister

Minister of Justice Titus Mvalo has told parliament that government is not doing anything on the request to have a federal system

Mvalo was responding to a question from MP for Mzimba North Yeremia Chihana who said federal system will develop the country just like other countries that are practicing it

Responding Mvalo expressed doubt on the importance of federal system of government in Malawi

He disagreed with sentiments that some neighbouring countries like Tanzania are practicing such system

Thereafter chairperson of parliamentary committee on agriculture Sameer Suleman asked the office of speaker to empower the committee to make an inquiry on the rotten 10 000 maize

Suleman alleged that two ex-ministers and a sitting member in parliament are involved in the illegal sale of 38, 000 metric tons of maize
