Government launches online learning

Government has launched online learning and signed Memorandum of Understanding MOU with TNM on materials in the fight against COVID-19 and promotion of education.

Speaking during the ceremony Minister of education, science and technology William Susuwele Banda said the online learning is free and for secondary school students but primary school pupils will access lessons through the media

Susuwele Banda said the Ministry will distribute solar tablets and printed materials to rural areas.

“We have also considered students with learning difficult so that they access the education,” he says

Speaking later principal secretary in the ministry Justin Saidi said once the schools open they will pick from where they stopped and examination classes will be given ample time to study before writing the examinations.

“Ministry of education is concerned with some private schools which are airing adverts inviting students to report for lessons and asking parents to pay fees,” Saidi says

He asked private schools to wait for government’s feedback on the concerns they presented.
