Government Warns Of Floods

Ministry of agriculture, irrigation and water development has warned of impending flooding in the next two to three days.

Secretary for the Ministry Grey Nyandule Phiri says the flooding is due to continued high rainfall patterns in the southern region along Shire, Ruo and Mwanza rivers.

Therefore Nyandule Phiri has advised people in the country to take precaution measures and exercise extreme caution.

“The warning is based on rainfall forecast from department of climate change and meteorological services and National Hydrological Monitoring Network,” he said.

Nyandule Phiri also says department of water resources continues to monitor water levels in all the rivers and will keep updating on the likelihood of floods.
