Katuli Health Centre has medical assistant after 9 months

Katuli Health Center in Mangochi has a new Medical Assistant after 9 months without a doctor.

Confirming the development, Mangochi District health Office public Relations officer Halord Kabuluzi said the medical assistant has started working today at the health center.

“We commend ministry of health for considering their requests saying will cut extra costs which members of community had been paying as they were travelling long distances to get medical assistance,” thanked Kabuluzi

In his remarks NICE Trust Education Coordinator in the area Alled Mkata said communities are happy with the development.

“Many people in the area have lost their lives due to lack of medical officer at the health center,” disclosed Mkata.

Last week people in Katuli presented a petition to Mangochi district hospital and commissioner against 10, 000 kwaacha imposed on pregnant women to deliver at the health centre.
