Malawi needs 600 police vehicles

Malawi police services needs 600 vehicles to distribute to all police stations across the country.

Minister of Home Affairs and internal security Cecilia Chazama in parliament disclosed in parliament in response to a question on the 100 police vehicles donated by China.

Chazama said “there were no conditions attached to the distribution of the vehicles.”

She assured the MPs that the police vehicles will be taken care of.

“The vehicles are not enough to boost security in the country,” Chazama added.

MPs said police officers are failing to delivery effectively their services due to shortage of vehicles.
