Lets fights the effects of climate change together- Government

Ministry of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining has asked Malawians to work together with government in fighting against climate change.

The remarks have been made by Chief Director in the Ministry of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining, Oliver Kumbambe, during a stakeholders consultative meeting on Malawi’s preparation for the 25th session of Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework convention on Climate change that was held in Lilongwe.

Kumbambe said working together can help to achieve the goal of dealing with climate change.

He said the preparatory meeting is important because government and stakeholders were discussing what they will take at the conference of Parties meeting.

He said Malawi is preparing to take a message of encouragement at the conference of Parties so that every country can abide by what they will agree at the conference because most countries do not always abide by the conference agreements.

Kumbambe then called upon Malawians and the entire world to play their part in fighting climate change by providing technical and financial support.

In his remarks, National coordinator for Civil Society Network on Climate change, Julius Ng’oma said Malawi and other countries have been facing a lot of challenges because of climate change so there is need to discuss how to manage the impacts of climate change while looking for measures of ending it.
