Malawi shuts borders over new corona virus strain

Presidential taskforce on covid 19 has announced that borders shall be closed for 14 days to decelerate resurgence of the pandemic

Announcing at a press briefing in Lilongwe the task-force said people who will be allowed through the border posts are Malawians deported from other countries, those returning home and providers of essential services

This is coming after a new strain of covid-19 has just been discovered in South Africa

The declaration came few days after police bowed down to demands of minibus drivers to implement a 3 per seat capacity in minibuses following the increment of fuel prices
