Man killed of sugarcane

A 32 year old man has been beaten to death by angry mob in Chiradxulu when he was caught stealing sugarcane.

According to Limbe police deputy publicist Pedxesai Xembeneko on 2nd August, 2016, Lameck Chibwana went to steal sugarcane at one of the gardens within Khukuteni village.

“Unfortunately he was spotted by the garden owner who was on guard. Upon seeing the owner, Chibwana started to run away but the gardener shouted for help,” explained Xembeneko.

He said the villagers flocked in and beat him to death on the way to Mzedi Police Unit.

The deceased came from Khukuteni village TA Machinjiri in Blantyre.
