Men Arrested For Possessing Protected Species

Three men have been arrested for possessing protected species in Machinga district.

The suspects are Enock Green 37, Samson Isaac 56 and Saudi Mussa 52.

Police report indicates that the arrest took place at Umbwa Trading centre.

“A team of officers from department of national parks and wildlife led by Miles Zidana received a tip that unknown men from Ngokwe and Chikweo possessed a Pangolin animal which was being offered for sale at a price of 3.5 million kwacha,” reads the statement

Meanwhile, the Pangolin has been handed over to Liwonde National park.
