Muslim women should acquire vocational skills

Muslim women in Malawi have been encouraged to acquire vocational skills in order to be self reliant and support their families.

Principal of Mama khadija Girls Academy Sheikh Abdul Rahman Abdullah made the appeal during a closing ceremony of vocation skills training of MADEC women group.

Sheikh Abdullah said the training will boost education status of women in Mangochi district.

“The training will help to reduce challenges the women face when taking care of their families,” Sheikh Abdullah said

He pledged to donate five tailoring machines to the grouping.

One of the participants from MADEC women group Xaitun M’dala commended the principal for the support he renders to them which has helped the women to be economically empowered and independent.

She said the women lack many necessities therefore the pledged machines will help the grouping to grow.
