Muslims Call For Formation Of Regulatory Body On Islamic activities.

Participants at Zanzibar University Muslim Graduates ZUMGA panel discussion have agreed that there is need to form a body which will regulate Islamic activities in the country.

The resolution came after noting that some of problems facing Malawian Muslim Community arise due to lack of such organization that will audit proposal development and project implementation.

During the discussion it was discovered that lack of vision and a well developed strategic plan for Muslim Community is also a contributing factor.

The discussion centered on coordination among Islamic organizations saying lack of cooperation is leading to duplication of projects being implemented.

“Presence of various organizations should not be a means of divisions rather strengthening the development of Islam,” they stressed

The participants therefore thanked ZUMGA Blantyre chapter for organizing the function saying it will help to generate ideas that will help to develop Islam.

The function which took place at Iqra Islamic propagation centre was organized under the theme “Muslim contribution to the social-economic development of Malawi”.
