Mutharika says it’s time to burry the hatches and develop Malawi

The newly elected President Professor Arthur Mutharika has asked Malawians to forgive each other and promote tolerance in order to develop Malawi.

Mutharika said this at Kamuzu stadium during the inauguration ceremony of him as the head of state.

He has urged faith and political leaders, civil society organisations and journalists among others to support his government.

Mutharika has also emphasised that he shall not tolerate corruption and will fulfil the promises he made during the campaign period.

Former President of Malawi Dr Bakili Muluzi, President of Botswana Ian Khama and representatives of other heads of states in Africa attended the event.

However, the former president of Malawi Dr Joyce Banda was not in attendance.
