Police arrest leaders of demonstrations against selective justice

Police have arrested 6 leaders of Human Rights Ambassadors for planning to hold demonstrations against selective justice

The demos were organised by Ben Longwe, Kingsley Mpaso, Ida Mazinga and unknown persons in Lilongwe

However, High court judge Simeon Mdeza granted injunction to four concerned individuals namely John Kwenda, James Ali, Dan Kamara and John Mbewe against the demonstrations

But the demonstrators went ahead with the protests prompting police to fire teargas to disperse the people

The demonstrators chanted anti-government songs and stopped vehicles as most shops were not opened.

The injunction is restraining the organisers from holding the protest until they provide the list of names of people who will be liable for payment of damages and theft of property.
