Police warns against overpricing of Affordable Farm inputs

Malawi Police Services has warned traders against overpricing of Farm inputs under the Affordable Inputs Program (AIP) .

In an interview with radio Islam, National police Public Relations Office senior Superintendent James Kadadzera, said some unscrupulous traders and suppliers of farm inputs under government’s AIP are selling the inputs at higher prices in Thyolo, Dowa and Zomba.

According to Kadadzera, some traders are selling 50 KG bag of fertilizer at K5,500.00 instead of the recommended K4,495.00 and a pack of maize seed at K3,000.00 instead of K2,000.00.

“As police we are telling Malawians, beneficiaries in particular not to be duped, not to be over priced but to buy the input at the recommended price”, said Kadadzera.

Meanwhile, Kadadzera says police has tightened security in all selling points.
