President advised to march his words with action on ACB director
University of Malawi political scientist Ernest Thindwa has advised President Chakwera to march his words with action on ACB director Martha Chizuma.
Thindwa was reacting to Chakwera’s speech in which he urged all institutions in the fight against corruption to support ACB.
Chakwera said he does not want any politician or cabinet minister to interfere with Chizuma’s work.
However, speaking to Radio Islam, university of Malawi political lecturer Ernest Thindwa said “much as Chakwera’s statement is very encouraging and commendable, there is need for action from the president.”
He said Malawians would love the president to get results from all key institutions in the fight against corruption.
Chakwera’s sentiments came days after human rights organisations and concerned citizens criticised Malawi Police Service for summoning Chizuma to an investigative interview after certain people applied to Mzuzu court against her regarding the leaked audio
