Sheikhs describe Muslim Youth Groups essential for Information sharing & Unity

Muslim youth groups have been described as very essential for knowledge sharing and strength of the Muslim societies.

This has been said by Sheikh Milford M’baya who the imam of Zomba police Masjid at the end of the meeting of youth group representatives held at the mosque over the weekend.

Sheikh M’baya said youth groups are best platforms where the young people can teach one another about the religion

“people who have knowledge about the religion are very important for the strength of the religion hence encouraging the youths to take part in youth group activities,” said Sheikh M’baya

He added that, through these groups the young people advise one another to adopt good characters which are concordance with Islamic teachings.

However, Sheikh M’baya cautioned those initiating the groups to have good intentions for establishing them and have establish for the same to avoid losing direction

On his part, Sheikh Ibrahim Mwanyali who organized the meeting said was delighted with the turn out and how the representatives deliberated on the agenda.

Sheikh Mwanyali said he called for the meeting after noting that most groups in the district stopped functioning, which led many youths to be taking part in immoral behaviors

He said after the meeting, they will now be organizing exchange visits with an aim of enhancing collaboration and networking among the groups in the districts

Appreciating the initiative Abdullah Noor who is an acting chairperson of Muslim Youth Society (MYS) for the Eastern Region said the meeting was a very good platform to interaction of young people in the district

He encouraged fellow youths to implement what was discussed during the meeting

The meeting which attracted members from different youth groups within Zomba city centered on identifying key hiccups which affect operations of the groups and their solutions as well strategizing on reviving those which are not functioning,
