Sidik Mia Foundation partners with Muslim Youth Group to Assist the Needy

Sidik Mia Foundation has partnered with Sadzi Light of Youth Muslim Theatre in extending a helping hand to the needy in Zomba.

Speaking on behalf of the chairperson after the exercise Director of the Foundation Omar Ndeketa said they were humbled to be part of the event because it is Islam’s teaching to help those in need.

Ndeketa said Muslims should continue assisting the needy and pledged to further work with Sadzi Light of Youth Muslim Theatre.

“Muslims should participate in social and political affairs so that their voice can be taken on board,” Ndeketa said

He then called on Muslims to support fellow Muslims aspiring for elected positions.

On his part chairperson of Sadzi light of youth Muslim Theatre Abdul Aziz Semu said they thought of helping the needy after looking at challenges which the orphans and the aged are going through in their day to day lives.

Semu hailed Sidik Mia Foundation for responding to their call and promised to capitalize the newly established relationship in order to reach many people who are in need of support.

“However, financial challenges are derailing our aspirations of reaching a wider population with such support,” Semu said

On her part one of the beneficiaries Ephel Katete said was grateful for the support which was given to the needy regardless of their religious affiliation.

On the day items worth 550,000 kwacha were distributed to orphans and the needy.

The function was held under the theme “the role of Muslim Youth in uplifting the welfare of the needy.”
