Special Needs Learners appeal for hostels

Officials at Nkhota kota L.E.A primary school have pleaded with well wishers to build hostels for visually impaired learners.

In an exclusive interview with radio Islam,one of the officials at the school, Muhammad Muhyudeen revealed that the students are currently using teacher’s houses as a hostel.

“Two teachers vacated their houses and offered the students for accommodation,’ said Muhyudeen.

The school was built in the Kamuxu Banda era in the year 1972 and the hostels that were built in that year got damaged in the 80’s.

Currently the school has over 30 visually impaired learners ranging from pre-school to standard 8 and all are residing at the school.
