Thousands Die in Libya Floods

Over 3,000 people have died and many more are missing after Storm Daniel lashed eastern Libya.

The city of Derna has experienced the worst destruction after two dams burst.

UN humanitarian coordinator for Libya Georgette Gagnon has said early reports showed that dozens of villages and towns were “severely affected with widespread flooding, damage to infrastructure, and loss of life.”

She call on all partners to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to the people in eastern Libya
