Two Women Give Birth To Triplets In Malawi

Two women have given birth to triplets at Dowa district hospital.

The mothers are Catherine Dikilani 22 and Georgina Howard 21.

Speaking in an interview, Catherine’s husband, Saukani Dikilani said was very happy to have the triplets though it means a huge responsibility.

Dikilani said “it is a special gift as this rarely happens in the district and Malawi.”

However, Howard, who already has three, of which two are twins, was divorced and lives with her mother.

The mother has appealed for help as she only relies on farming to support the extended family.

One of the nurses on duty, Carol Mchombo, said the triplets need special care to be healthy.
