UN Chief says world is paralysed

Head of UN has warned world leaders that nations are not willing to tackle challenges that threaten humanity’s future.

Speaking at the opening of the 77th UN General Assembly meeting in New York City, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed that cooperation and dialogue are the only path forward to maintain global peace

Gutteres warned that “no power or group alone can call the shots

In his speech Chairman of African Union Macky Sall called for the lifting of sanctions against Zimbabwe

Sall the Senegal’s President urged the Security Council to address conflicts in Africa in the same way it addressed other conflicts.

He also called for reforms in the council that would make it more inclusive and possibly grant Africa a permanent seat.

Sall appealed for Africa to be given a seat in G20 group, which includes leaders of the world’s 20 major economies.
