Vice president recommends political parties act amendment for MW-Vision 2063
Vice president Dr Saulos Chilima has said amending the political parties act will ensure proper implementation of Malawi vision MW- Vision 2063
Chilima who is also Minister of economic planning and development and public reforms said this in parliament where he was answering a question from MP for Mzimba North Yeremiah Chihana on the policy of implementing the vision
He said government is currently in the process of developing a ten year plan
“Government is looking for five and two year plans because ten years is a long stretch,” Chilima
After the vice president answered the question Chihana called for the resignation of chief secretary to government Zangazanga Chikhosi for controlling the civil service where Chilima is supposed to implement public sector reforms
Chihana said Chikhosi is firing principal secretaries anyhow and Chilima has no control over that.
“I therefore call for the transfer of public sector reforms to office of president,” Chihana
These remarks prompted the deputy speaker of parliament to send him out of parliament until Monday next week
In his comment leader of opposition in parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa said the commotion that occurred in the national assembly is terrible
Nankhumwa asked the business committee and legal affairs committee of parliament to advise parliamentarians about how to treat the vice president
