WES petitions parliament over Water Ministry

Water and Environmental Sanitation Network WES has petitioned parliament demanding a standalone ministry for water, sanitation and hygiene

Speaking after the delivery national coordinator for WES Willes Mwandira said there is need for a legislative mandate which can help to increase allocation of funds for water projects

Mwandira therefore requested the concerned stakeholders to provide response to their demands as soon as possible

Speaking after receiving the petition chairperson of parliamentary committee on natural resources Werani Chilenga concurred with the petitioners on the need for a standalone ministry than combining the sector with other ministries
