People of Ngabu petition Mutharika

People from Ngabu in Chikwawa district have petitioned President Peter Mutharika to reinstate Senior Chief Ngabu

President Mutharika dismissed chief Ngabu last year because of corruption and abuse of his power.

This angered his followers who marched to office of Chikwawa district council where they presented a petition.

Speaking after presenting the petition to the district commissioner on behalf of the group Senior Group Village Headman Khokhwa said they expect President Mutharika to address their concerns within a period of 7 days.

“The accusations leveled against the Chief are political and was dismissed without consulting the roral family,” Senior Group Village Headman Khokhwa said

Speaking after receiving the petition Chikwawa District Commissioner Ali Phiri said the letter will be delivered to the president immediately.

Phiri commended the group for holding a peaceful march
