Block leaders write City Council against public places encroachment
Block leaders in area 49 New Shire have written Lilongwe City Council to stop alleged encroachers on the land which was reserved for a hospital and a school.
Speaking to radio Islam, one of the block leaders, Fletcher Chowe said they are surprised that the reserved land is currently being developed without consultation with leaders in the area.
Chowe said they will not sit back and watch their land being encroached adding their children are travelling long distances to attend school whilst they were waiting for government to construct a school and clinic on the said land.
“We will ensure that the land is put to its intended use,” Chowe
Meanwhile, Minister of natural resources Eisenohower Mkaka has been mentioned in the land grabbing case in Lilongwe.
However Mkaka denied getting the land illegally saying was approved by chief of the area
