Chakwera Appoints New Inspector General

New Inspector General of Police (IG) Merlyne Nachulu Yolamu has been appointed.

The appointment of Yolamu is subject to confirmation by national assembly.

Yolamu was the commissioner responsible for Central West Region of police.

Yolamu has replaced former Inspector General Dr George Kainja who was fired after the Ant Corruption Bureau investigation report revealed that he was involved in the corruption with UK based businessman Zuneth Sattar.
