Chief Justice disbars lawyer for improper conduct

Chief Justice Rizine Mzikamanda has disbarred lawyer Maxwell Tembo for improper conduct.

Mzikamanda made the decision this morning following an application by Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda request.

During court hearing, Nyirenda told chief justice that Tembo embezzled about 7 million kwacha meant for clients from 2015, a conduct which he says is improper.

The chief justice has since ordered Tembo to refund the money with interests.

Mzikamanda will on 6th May, 2022 hear three more applications from the Attorney General on lawyers Nicely Msowoya, Julius Nyambo and Richard Katsiche on similar matters.

According to Nyirenda this will help save people from being robed of their monies.
