Government needs 70 billion kwacha to roll out internet in all secondary schools

Three secondary schools; Nkhotakota, Chitipa and Mulunguzi in Zomba have benefited from the first phase of the project with many others expecting to get connected soon

Minister of education Agness Nyalonje revealed this in Nkhotakota during the launch of Connect a School, an internet connectivity programme which will promote e-learning amidst COVID-19 pandemic

Nyalonje said the initiative is part of her ministry’s strategic objective to digitise education and expand access through internet connectivity and digitisation

“If the country is to achieve Malawi 2063 development agenda and turn into a middle income country it needs to educate more students to MSCE and degree levels,” Nyalonje
