Independent schools push for school reopening

Independent Schools Association of Malawi ISAMA has reiterated calls for government to open schools.

Speaking to radio Islam, ISAMA president Joseph Patel was reacting to reports that board of directors for schools will lead demonstrations should government fail to reopen schools by June.

Concerned private schools’ directors have warned that they will take to the streets should government fail to open all schools in the country saying that the learners will be more protected from Corona virus in schools unlike the current situation where most of them are just loitering around.

“We are optimistic that government will heed the calls to reopen schools, hence allaying demonstrations fears.”
