Interfaith Dialogue Committee Condemns Selling Beer Everywhere in Mangochi

Interfaith Dialogue Committee in Mangochi has condemned the selling of beer anywhere in the district.

This was said during a press conference which the organisation conducted in district.

Speaking during the function, chairperson of interfaith dialogue committee in Mangochi father Peter Likagwa said “all religious groupings are not happy that alcohol is sold anywhere.”

Likagwa said they had been discussing with the council in order to close all shops which are selling beer together with food stuffs.

Speaking during the same function chairperson of Muslim Association of Malawi in Mangochi Sheikh Fahad Kamsuli says “the sale of beer anyhow has turned many young people to be drunkards which is dangerous to their lives.”

A couple of weeks ago Mangochi Town council demolished all shades that were selling liquor and revoked licences from operators for failure to meet required standards.
