Karonga council chases DC & 2 Officials

Officials of Karonga district council have supported the junior workers’ action of chasing out the district commissioner Rosemary Moyo and other two senior officials.

The junior workers claim that the administration of the three has destroyed a lot of development projects in the area.

On Thursday last week angry direct workers of Karonga district council restrained Moyo, the human resources officer Alick Milimbo as well as Monitoring and Evaluation officer Emmanuel Sohaya to continue working in the district accusing them of failing to perform their duties.

Speaking during the emergency meeting full council meeting yesterday which was aimed at resolving the issue the district council chairperson Patrick kishombe said a lot of millions kwacha’s that were supposed to develop the district have been misused by the said officers hence their support.

“Meanwhile, the district continues running without the district commissioner as government is yet to deploy another one,” said Kishombe.
