Karonga council in Turmoil

There is hope that the long battle between Karonga district Commissioner Rosemary Moyo and the council junior staff will come to an end following the announcement of local government officials to resolve the matter on Wednesday, October 21, 2015.

Speaking to vendors who wanted to stage a vigil today against poor sanitation and lack of other services at the main market, the council chairperson Patrick Kishombe said all things are expected to be normalized as the Ministry will hold a dialogue with both sides tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Karonga North West James Bondi Kamwambi has asked the Ministry to conduct a financial audit before transferring the district commissioner claiming that there are a number of officials involved in the mismanagement of the council’s resources.
