Malawi & AfDB hold Energy Financing Seminar
Ministry of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining says is working tooth and nail to find solutions to intermittent power outages in the country.
This has been said in Lilongwe during a financing seminar which was organized by the Ministry in collaboration with the African Development Bank.
Speaking during the Finance Seminar, minister responsible, Bright Msaka said the seminar is an opportunity for Malawi as it will benefit in the “Energy for Africa” deal and other initiatives which the AFDB is implementing in the energy sector with an aim of achieving universal access to energy in Africa by 2025.
“Government through my Ministry welcomes the initiative and looks forward to its contribution to the development of the country,” said Msaka.
He said government has come up with a number of short and long term measures that will be employed to address these challenges.
Country representative for African Development Bank, Andrew Mwaba says they are working hand in hand with government to find alternatives to challenges which are affecting development of the country.
