Farmers disappointed with government

Farmers Union of Malawi FUM says it is disappointed with the way government is handling Farm Input Subsidy Program FISP.

His remarks come as government is expected to start distributing coupons for Farm input subsidy Program, after they arrived late in the country.

“The delays are negatively affecting lives of poor farmers in the country,” Kapichira Banda told Radio Islam.

Government announced that it will start distributing coupons on November 21st but the process delayed because they had not been delivered from UK where printing took place.

Kapichira Banda said there is need to introduce universal subsidy program.
