Malawi Disputes Ebola Case Rumors

Ministry of health and population has disputed rumors of Ebola case in Karonga district.

The ministry’s principal secretary, Dr Dan Namalika in a press statement, says the suspected patient is admitted of fever and infection.

Dr Namalika adds that people should not panic as there is currently no risk of the disease because “the patient did not contact the infected or travel to any region with Ebola.”

However, Namalika said the patient is being treated at a camp while investigations are underway.

He then promised that government will continue to be vigilant to ensuring that the disease surveillance and response continue.
