Police Arrest suspected murderer in Neno

Police in Neno have arrested a 32 year old man for allegedly hacking to death his two uncles.

Southern Region Police Public Relation Officer, Ramsy Nlhane, told Radio Islam that they have arrested Paul Kamwetsa of Nseula village, Traditional Authority Dambe, Neno district.

Nlhane said Kamwetsa committed the crime on allegation that his uncles were behind the death of a 17 year old brother.

He added that the suspect who has been in hiding since the day of the incident was found in the same clothes he wore during the commission of crime heavily soiled with blood.

Nlhane said during preliminary interrogation the suspect confessed to have killed his uncles, Chalaka Akunkeyani, 60 and Deke Kamenya, 51 both from Nseula village, Traditional Authority Dambe Neno on allegation that they bewitched his younger brother who was bitten by a snake and later died at Nsambe Health Center.

Police has however said the investigations are underway to trace the panga knives and arrest other would be suspects involved in the vice.
