MCP Elections Case Lawyer Attacked

Lawyer of Malawi Congress Party MCP in presidential elections case Pempho Likongwe has been attacked by thugs last night at his house in Lilongwe.

Spokesperson of MCP Reverend Maurice Munthali has said Likongwe was assaulted and robbed some items including Laptops, phone and files.

“His guard was also attacked therefore we strongly condemn the incident,” said Munthali

However, he said the theft of the items will not affect their evidence in election case which is underway at the constitutional court.

MCP is the second petitioner in the presidential elections case.

President Professor Peter Mutharika of Democratic Progressive Party won the elections.
