MEC Advises Electoral Staff To Deliver Correct Results

Malawi Electoral Commission MEC has advised district elections clerks and constituency returning officers in central region to deliver correct results of elections.

Commissioner of MEC Jean Mathanga has said this during the opening of training on polling and results management.

Mathanga said accurate electoral outcomes will result into free and credible polls.

In his remarks returning officer in Dedza west constituency Feresiano Katantha said the training will help to gain new knowledge on how to conduct elections.

Malawi will hold tripartite elections on 21 May, 2019 where president, Members of Parliament and councilors will be elected to serve the next five years.

Seven people are contesting on the presidency including incumbent president professor Peter Mutharika and leader of main opposition party Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
