Members of Parliament storm SFFRFM over fertilizer, government releases 3000 metric tons

Opposition members of parliament MPs have stormed Small Holder farmers Fertilizer Revolving Fund SFFRFM offices in Blantyre to push government to send fertilizer to their constituencies.

Small Holder farmers Fertilizer Revolving Fund was designated to supply the fertilizer using their shops and ADMARC.

Speaking to Radio Islam, one of the MPs Mary Navitcha, says government has not lived up to their expectations on fertilizer displacement distribution.

According to Navitcha government through its agencies has already collected money and national identity cards from farmers but to date the commodity is yet to reach them.

Navitacha says they will continue to stay at SFFRFM depot in Chirimba until government dispatches and distributes the commodity to their constituents.

In the 2022/2023 AIP, about 52,000 metric tons of fertilizer were expected to be distributed to over 2.5 million farming households, 31,000 goats will also be distributed in Balaka and Rumphi from the K149 billion kwacha invested
