Ministers, MPs tour councils over coronavirus

Cabinet ministers and members of parliament have toured various councils to appreciate the work they are doing in the fight against coronavirus.

Speaking after visiting Mangochi district hospital and market minister of homeland security Nicholus Dausi urged stakeholders to put politics aside and jointly deal with the pandemic.

“I will report the challenges they face to the special cabinet committee on corona virus,” Dausi says

He asked the health workers to work with chiefs as they know better people in their areas.

In his remarks chairperson of Mangochi district council Allan Mmadi said they are working with all political parties in the fight against corona virus.

“Our appeal to the Minister is to support the district with tents in health centres and cars for patrols since the borders are porous,” Mmadi says

Speaking in Balaka minister of transport Ralph Jooma urged people to observe restriction measures set by government.

Jooma said the injunction on lockdown does not give people the liberty to restriction measures which government had put in place

According to a leaked document every cabinet minister was getting 450, 000 kwacha while MP 350, 000 allowance for the trip
