Muslim poets donate to 77 year old
Muslim poets under the banner ‘Chola Changa’ which is a Radio Islam program have donated a wheel chair and other assorted items to the family of Alabi James Mkumbira in Mpwere Village, T/A Mposa in Machinga
The donation follows the concern that was raised by one of the poets Alabi James Mkumbira that his father was struggling with mobility challenge.
Speaking after the donation, Producer and presenter of Chola Changa program Time Jimmy said, as poets they preach about being good to others hence the gesture
“The visit at the place revealed another crucial problem of shelter for the family thereby calling upon well-wishers to assist the family,” Jimmy
Representing other poets, Yusuf Bamusi said Chola Changa program has enhanced collaboration among them hence sharing the agony Alabi James is going through
Speaking on behalf of the family Alabi James Mkumbira said as a family were in disbelief considering that his father has struggled with mobility challenge for almost 13 years.
He said the items have brought change to the status of the family hence calling upon other wishers to assist the family with a house, so that the parents can have a decent shelter
Village headman Mpwera hailed the initiative saying it has brought relief to the family.
He however said, “the area faces many challenges that also need assistance including access to bore hole as people travel long distances to access boreholes.”
On the day, Chola Changa members donated a wheel Chair, a bundle of sugar, washing and bathing soap among other that were outsourced from different well-wishers.
